Interior corridor and medieval church
Part of it is leant against the rock, it is a cement construction covered with a barrel vault partially fallen down. In the high Middle Ages the eastern side of this ancient corridor became the church of the monastery dedicated to S. Michele Arcangelo who was venerated in the area. One can still admire some weak remains of frescoes dating back to the 9th cent. the altar was set against the end wall while the depiction of the Virgin with the Child between St. Gabriel and St. Michael is hardly visible today.
